Everyone Can Use a Natural Energy Boost!

Energy is defined as the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. In other words, energy is integral to what sustains us and gives us vitality. Everyone needs energy but many of us lack it.

Every time something gets warm, cools down, moves, grows, makes a sound or changes in any way, it uses energy. Science classifies energy into two categories –kinetic (moving) and potential (stored) energy.1 For example, the food a person eats contains chemical energy, and a person’s body stores this energy until he or she uses it as kinetic energy during work or play.2

Energy can change between potential and kinetic. Water at the top of a waterfall has stored potential energy but as the water begins to fall, it changes from potential to kinetic energy. When we create energy from hydropower, we harness the kinetic energy of the water for our own use. 1 Radiant energy is another type of kinetic energy that includes visible light, X-rays, electromagnetic energy and radio waves.

Nikken helps you boost your kinetic energy with advanced magnetic and ceramic reflective fiber technologies. The Energy Pack is composed of Kenko (Japanese for “health”) and KenkoTherm products that incorporate these technologies. The Energy Pack is essential to an Active Wellness lifestyle and is designed to support your maximum mobility and overall physical well-being.

The Energy Pack should appeal to people in all stages of activity: from the college athlete to the weekend warrior, from people who work on their feet all day to the recovering couch potato. Whether you’re a performance-driven competitor or simply need to help soothe muscular and joint discomfort, the Energy Pack contains just the right product sampling to keep you on the Active Wellness path.

Our Wellness Home Packs are the perfect way to sponsor new Nikken Consultants and are priced at 10% below our everyday low prices!

Make Your Dreams Come True with Restful Sleep

Virtually everyone knows someone who is a chronic insomniac or suffers from erratic sleep patterns. Needing adequate sleep to function well is a known fact but the reality is that most adults and many children suffer from sleep deprivation. Insomnia can cause an average of 11.3 missed workdays and $2,280 in lost productivity per employee per year.1

Some people are so used to not getting enough sleep that they no longer pay attention to the risks of sleep deficiency. In fact, they may not realize that they’re sleep-deficient. Even with limited or poor-quality sleep, they may still think that they can function well. For example, drowsy drivers may feel capable of driving. Yet, studies show that sleep deficiency harms your driving ability as much as, or more than, being drunk. It’s estimated that driver sleepiness is a factor in about 100,000 car accidents each year, resulting in about 1,500 deaths.2

Drivers aren’t the only ones affected by sleep deficiency. It can affect people in all lines of work or study, including doctors, pilots, lawyers, mechanics and students. To add insult to injury, poor sleep can actually slow down metabolism, affecting weight gain and insulin levels.

Studies show that a good night’s sleep improves learning and problem-solving skills by helping you pay attention, make decisions and be creative. Studies also show that sleep deficiency alters activity in some parts of the brain that control emotions and behavior. Sleep deficiency has been linked to depression, suicide and risk-taking behavior.3

Aside from the self-discipline needed to adhere to regular bedtimes and to not succumb to sleeping in on non-work/non-school days, what you sleep on can make a huge difference in your pursuit of Active Wellness. Nikken touted the importance of sleep for years before it became a hot topic and continues to advocate for an advanced magnetic sleep experience. This month, the newly launched Wellness Home Sleep Pack helps you not only to sleep well and reap the health benefits but also to build a viable business when you share it, sell it and sponsor new people with it.

The Sleep Pack comes in a variety of sizes to fit your bed: Twin, Queen and King. You’ll be sleeping on patented DynaFlux® technology, and once you try it, you’ll want to stay with it forever. When you purchase any of the Sleep Packs, you save 10% off the price of purchasing each item separately.

Because the Wellness Home Packs come with such high PV (personal volume), they are ideal for promoting and selling to help you achieve monthly qualifications and rank advancement. For example, sponsoring one new Consultant with the Twin Dream Pack or selling one to a Customer, gives you 800 PV! Doing the same with a Queen Dream Pack gives you 1351 PV and with the King Dream Pack, 1545 PV.

Discounted prices with high PV! You’re not dreaming — Nikken wants to help make your business-building dreams come true.

Clean Water is a Necessity of Life

“While the planet Earth is primarily covered in water, only 2.5% of it is fresh, and only a portion of that is drinkable. In fact, many global agencies now say human kind is in a water crisis. The U.S. Department of State has already mentioned water risk as a threat to national security.”1

Let’s face it. Life is full of things we can’t control, but there are conscious decisions we can make and follow through on. Living with Active Wellness is within our personal control and drinking PiMag filtered water is a critical part of it.

Two of the Wellness Home Packs newly launched on August 1, the Water Packs address the maintenance of an Active Wellness lifestyle in the face of a global water crisis. Each Water Pack includes state-of-the art water filtration with the PiMag Waterfall® and extra filter, the PiMag® Sport Bottle and two extra filters (which also fit the old Sport Bottle) and your choice of a PiMag MicroJet® Shower and extra filter in either wall mount or hand held versions.

Having a Wellness Home Water Pack is crucial to healthy living, no matter where you are—industrialized nations are no longer safe from pathogens and micro-plastics infiltrating the municipal water systems. The PiMag MicroJet® Shower Systems and the PiMag Waterfall® help you drink healthy and bathe healthy, but what happens when you leave home?

Nikken has improved the PiMag® Sport Bottle so it’s even easier to carry everywhere with you. The filter is not only smaller, but made with biogreen materials that contain EcoPure, which enables the filter to be completely broken down and nourish the soil when it is recycled.

With patented nano-filtration, the improved PiMag® Sport Bottle has the only portable filter that combines nano-filtration, alkalization and declustering. This means that it helps filter out the tiniest potential contaminants while alkalizing the water and shrinking the size of the molecules for easier absorption. The bottle is still to be used only with potable, municipally treated water. Do not try to use it to filter water from streams, creeks, etc.

You’ll also find the improved replaceable flip top drinking spout to be easier to drink from. The new loop can attach to a hook, belt or backpack. We recently took this Sport Bottle to a video recording studio and every member of the crew checked it out and was impressed.

The Water Packs are an easy sell. Whoever is concerned about living well in an increasingly polluted world or wants to keep family and friends healthy and hydrated, will want a Water Pack. It’s really a matter of need, not want. It’s up to you to inform them and Share It.

The Wellness Home Pack Advantage

  • The Packs are a value proposition. If purchased separately, the pack items cost substantially more.
  • When you own all three types of Packs, you are on your way to maintaining an Active Wellness lifestyle with your Wellness Home.
  • You’ll never have to “guess” which products to lead with when speaking with prospects. Choose whichever Pack(s) best suit the newcomers you introduce to Nikken, and help each one build a Wellness Home!
  • We recommend starting off with the Water Packs, because no matter where you live, clean water is crucial to health.
  • Packs help you rank advance and/or qualify monthly with sales volume. For example, just sponsoring one new Nikken Consultant who buys a King Sleep Pack or selling one to a Customer, would allow you to rank advance to Executive, or if you are a Platinum or above, satisfy your monthly PGPV requirement.

Nikken. Discover It. Live It. Share It.

Japanese Takeaways

Recently the 2017 Nikken Team Kaizen members were rewarded for qualifying as Active Wellness entrepreneurs with a luxury trip to Japan. Here is what Jon and Nicki Edgell, Platinum Consultants from the UK, wrote about their memorable experience.

“In addition to the regular compensation plan Nikken offers extra incentives to consultants. One of these has just seen us take part in an all expenses paid Team Kaizen trip to Japan, the original home of Nikken.

2015 CONVENTION

“Although Nikken Inc. now has its HQ in the US the company aims to visit Japan every few years in order to honour its formation and to give consultants a chance to experience Japanese culture and the people’s philosophy of service. This was certainly the case where we were constantly humbled by the people’s helpfulness and politeness everywhere we went. At each hotel on the tour lines of staff would stand and bow. If we stopped for a moment and looked confusingly at a metro map a young student with perfect English would offer help. Tokyo is preparing for the Olympics in 2020 and the people’s friendliness and the efficiency of their transport systems will ensure a successful event.

“This trip, as well as various other annual events, is also a chance to reconnect with old colleagues and meet new friends, to revive one’s purpose, to get inspired and set intentions for the year ahead. To be surrounded by so many positive and successful partners serves to propel you on to the next level of your Nikken journey. Big decisions are made at these big events.

“The trip was primarily a holiday and a reward for good work but there are inevitably chances to talk business and share best practices. By forging lasting relationships with international colleagues chances for collaboration and sharing business arise.

“The network marketing model is one of collaborative entrepreneurship. Although we all have our own teams, by sharing information about what works well the global Nikken family is able to “grow the overall size of the pie”. In practice this translates, for example, to a colleague in Canada passing an enquiry from a UK resident to us or a Mexican business leader appearing on one of our webinars to pass on knowledge and inspiration to my team.

“Another takeaway from the trip was the number of different ways one can be successful at the Nikken business – for instance through online retail or through building a network, or a combination of both. The Nikken business leaders are drawn from all sorts of different characters – it is certainly not the case that you have to be an outgoing extrovert in the stereotypical salesman mold.

“Thank you Nikken for the trip of a lifetime!”

Summer Hair Care: Get the Chlorine Out

Most of us spend more time outdoors during the summer months, and hair takes a beating from being exposed to sun, wind and chlorine. Effective hair care requires a good shampoo and conditioner, but what about the water used to wash our hair?

Unfiltered water generally contains sediment, minerals and chemicals (such as chlorine) purported to clean the water system. None of these things is helpful in maintaining clean hair and a healthy scalp. What does make a huge difference is the PiMag MicroJet® Shower System. We normally think of water filters only in terms of clean drinking water, but the PiMag MicroJet Shower System effectively reduces chlorine exposure and makes shower water comparable in quality to filtered drinking water.

Year-round swimmers know what chlorine can do to hair. Depending on your natural hair color, ongoing chlorine exposure may transform it to various shades of yellow, green or blue while drying it out to the consistency of hay. Chlorine also tends to fade hair dye and highlights, increasing the cost of color maintenance. In a nutshell, the damage chlorine does to hair costs a lot of money to fix, and too much time if you decide to use the “grow it out and cut it off” method. It’s so much more cost-effective and practical to install the PiMag MicroJet® Shower System, which is far superior to other chlorine-reduction systems. Here’s how:

  • Most other chlorine-reduction shower filters trap part of the chlorine or add other chemicals to counteract it (fighting poison with poison, so to speak). The PiMag MicroJet uses a reduction/oxidation process to convert free-radical chlorine ions to neutral chlorides. In addition, Nikken Magnetic Technology helps condition water without salt or other chemical additives. The magnetic field assists in reducing clumping to reduce mineral buildup.
  • Even more effective filtration is achieved by patent-pending Air-Induction Technology, which injects air into the shower stream to create a higher air-to-water ratio. The result is a water stream that is less viscous and has less surface tension so it passes through the nozzle with decreased resistance, which helps maintain water pressure without requiring a higher flow rate.
    • The PiMag MicroJet® nozzle releases streams of microbubbles within the water flow, producing an effective cleansing action that penetrates surface buildup of dirt and helps moisturize skin and scalp so they feel fresh and soft.

Here are some other Active Wellness hair care tips:

  • Once you have washed your hair, try rinsing it out with cold water. The cold temperature constricts hair cuticles and makes the strands smoother and more reflective. It also prevents dirt from accumulating on the scalp and helps strength hair. The cold water rinse may leave your hair looking glossier and shinier.
  • Before swimming, wet your hair with cold water so that it has already absorbed clean water and will then soak up less of the salt or chlorinated water. (Chlorine and salt water make hair frizzy.)
  • After swimming, if you stay out in the sun or delay going to the shower, coat your hair with True Elements® Conditioner, as it will help prevent damage.
  • Use True Elements® Shampoo and Conditioner regularly all year round and wash more frequently during summer months. They won’t strip hair of its natural oils or hurt the scalp’s protective barrier. Non-irritating to sensitive skin, True Elements® Hair Care does NOT contain commonly used chemical ingredients found in many name brands.
  • Bring True Elements® Shampoo and Conditioner with you to the gym, the pool, and the beach.
  • Drink lots of water. Dehydration has a direct impact on hair growth, and lack of hydration produces dry and brittle hair. It also may decrease the rate of growth.

Continuous Improvement Resulting in Greater Good

In Japanese, the two characters that make up Kaizen—Kai and Zen—literally mean Change and Good. The character for Zen also means Kind. Kaizen therefore is the practice of continuous improvement, which results in the greater good. Originally introduced to the West in the 1980s, Kaizen now is recognized globally as an important aspect of organizational and corporate strategies for long-term success.

At Nikken, Team Kaizen members embody the concept of continuous improvement that helps not only the individual but also helps create a Healthy Society. Recipients of this award embody the spirit of Kaizen and are the role models for leadership with Nikken.

Although Kaizen is a competitive strategy in business, it is especially congruent with the Nikken approach to living a life of Active Wellness through the 5 Pillars of Health®—that is, to constantly seek improvement in the pursuit of Healthy Mind, Body, Family, Society and Finances.

Kaizen is based on certain guiding principles to manage and build a business:

  1. Good processes bring good results.
  2. Be personally and actively involved.
  3. Do the research so you can manage with concrete facts.
  4. Take action to contain and correct the root causes of problems.
  5. Work as a team.

Transfer these guiding principles to Team Kaizen and we have:

  1. Good work habits bring good results. Consistently retailing products and sponsoring new team members helps build checks.
  2. A good leader has a positive attitude.
  3. Becoming knowledgeable about Nikken products and income opportunity . leads to a strong belief in the Nikken Marketing Plan.
  4. When there are obstacles, overcome them. Find solutions, be a problem solver.
  5. Thrive in a team environment.

Kaizen is not just about building a successful Nikken business. It really is about personal growth, staying positive and ultimately, helping others.

You Can Do It!

Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning “continuous improvement through positive change.” Recipients of the Team Kaizen award exemplify the meaning of the word and have the opportunity to experience an extraordinary leadership position within Nikken. This is the first in a series of profiles of the 2018 Team Kaizen members in pursuit of Active Wellness.

2018 Team Kaizen members had to create at least one Quality Enrollment every month of 2017 and develop four or more new frontline Silvers last year. Fulfilling these qualifications required unwavering motivation. Here’s how Kimball Sargent and Geoff Avery-Foy stayed motivated, in Kimball’s own words:

“First, we 100% committed to building this business and making it our primary income.  The other was our burning desire to go to Japan. When we joined Nikken, the company had made a trip to Japan the year before and we were told there would be no more trips there. We were very sad about that. When we heard in January of 2017 that there was going to be a trip there, we decided failure was not an option.

“Every day my husband Geoff and I made at least five contacts or follow-ups. I am the person who is usually talking and meeting new people and he works hard on follow-up and providing support to our team. Regularly meeting new people and sharing the business as well as the products was essential.

“We needed a funnel of new people to introduce to the products and the business. I am a member of a BNI (business network international) group and another networking group. I attended these groups weekly and they provided me with new referrals on a weekly basis. This was crucial for us in bringing new people on the team.

“Working with our team members regularly was another key to our success. We spent the most time with the teammates who committed to going Silver and putting new people in front of us. The team is everything in this business and we are very grateful to everyone on our team who worked so hard and helped us achieve Team Kaizen.”

Already looking forward to qualifying for Team Kaizen 2019, Kimball says, “Geoff and I, along with our team, have decided that we are going to have a huge representation on Team Kaizen 2019. In 2005, I traveled to Italy to speak at a conference and my husband couldn’t afford to go. So I want to see Italy with him and we want to work with our teammates and earn the ultimate honor of being a part of Team Kaizen. The trip is amazing and maybe even better is getting to work with the other Kaizen members and the Nikken Leadership Team to promote the best networking company in the world. Reaching Team Kaizen 2018 let us know that we can achieve any goal that we set our minds to with Nikken, if we work consistently, have fun and don’t give up. The sky is the limit.”

Do you want to qualify for Team Kaizen? Here’s Kimball and Geoff’s 10-step plan to follow:

  1. Set your goal and your intention.
  2. Decide that failure is not an option.
  3. Create a visual that you will see daily that you have achieved the goal.
  4. Write your goal daily as if you have already achieved it, every morning first thing and every night before bed.
  5. Create a daily plan for contacting and following up with your new friends and your business partners and customers.
  6. Have regular events in your area.
  7. Attend the big events and bring your team members.
  8. Reach out to your sponsor and other successful Nikken Consultants for mentoring.
  9. Work with everyone on your team as if they were first level to you as long as they are working as hard as you do.
  10. Have fun, don’t give up and keep working until the goal is achieved.

Kimball says, “You can do this. You Can Do It!”

My Vision on the Future of Nikken

Last week, Nikken CEO Kurt Fulle spoke at Diamond Bernadette McBurnie’s San Mateo event, a gathering of Nikken entrepreneurs and guests. Here is the transcript of his brief yet inspiring words:

“When thinking about a topic such as a company’s future, two words come to mind: strategy and people. As with any organization, Nikken’s future is predicated on having the right strategy and attracting the right people to make it a reality.

“Strategy can be defined as a plan of action to achieve a goal. For Nikken, the goal is Every Home a Wellness Home. The plan of action is the Marketing Plan which is sometimes referred to as the Compensation Plan. There is a PowerPoint presentation that I have seen entitled A Better Way to a Life in Balance which details Why Nikken, and how to achieve the goal using Nikken’s Marketing Plan. I suggest you give it a good reading.

“I am confident we have the right goal, and equally confident that we have the right plan of action. Nikken’s Compensation Plan is transparent, easy to understand, and financially rewarding for those who excel at implementing it. Unlike other plans, there are no complicated rules or other convoluted requirements. The simple engine driving the compensation plan is sales volume. Sharing Nikken and creating duplication creates sales volume.

“The second word that comes to mind is people. Capable leaders are indispensable to carrying out a strategy.

  • If I am leading an organization, I want the right people on the bus, the wrong people not on the bus, and the right people in the right The adage that people are your most important asset is not entirely true. The right people are your most important asset.
  • If I am leading an organization, I must maintain an unwavering belief that I will prevail in attaining my goal, and at the same time acknowledge my present circumstances.
  • If I am leading an organization, I want to encourage a culture of discipline. In such a culture, there is minimal need for hierarchy, bureaucracy, or controls. When a culture of discipline is combined with an entrepreneurial drive, the result is often great results.
  • If I am leading an organization, spending time and energy trying to motivate people is generally a waste of effort. If you have the right people, they will be self-motivated. The challenge is to not de-motivate them. Remember, they will sign up with you because they desire to be an entrepreneur, not an employee.
  • If I am leading an organization, I know that I am the messenger, not the message. The plan of action is the message. The wrong people get confused here. The right people are clear as to their role. They lead by example.

“The last word I have to say about people is ‘If you are doing something you really care about, and you believe in its purpose, then it is hard to imagine that you will not try your very best to succeed.’

“When the right people and strategy come together, then your life can move to a Life in Balance. People like our contest winners and speakers: Dave Johnson, Mike DiMuccio, Herb Rapp, Bernadette McBurnie, Gary Lindner, Mee-Jin Chong , Ruth Loh and Bill Cottle are the right people.

“So, my vision of Nikken is seeing the right people implement the right strategy and as a result Every Home Becomes a Wellness Home filled with Humans Being More.”
